Magnificent oval dish from the Manufacture de GIEN RAMBOUILLET service with brocade / deer decoration.

 This hand-painted decor was created in 1955, designed by artist Jean Bertholle to meet the request of President René Coty of the Fourth Republic. It adorned the prestigious residences of the Republic that housed presidential hunting grounds.

 Brown mark under cover GIEN 1938-1960, it is therefore contemporary with its creation by Jean BERTHOLLE.
