THARAUD Vase, Limoges

 

A spherical vase with a circular neck, made of high-fired porcelain, featuring green and brown geometric decorations on a brown background; JASMIN model, circa 1930.

The base bears the marks “Limoges France” and “THARAUD,” as well as an “LR” signature.

 Camille THARAUD (1878–1956) was a French ceramist and director of a factory in Limoges, world-renowned for his colored-body vases. He exhibited at the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts and the 1937 World’s Fair.

Many of his works can be found in French national museums.
