JINGASA OF ASHIGARU IN HARIKAKE (papier mache) CIRCA EDO PERIOD (1603-1868) / MEIJI (1868-1912).
Very original Jingasa equipping, during the Japanese medieval period, the Ashigaru or infantrymen moving on foot.
This example is made of papier-mâché (Harikake), covered with lacquer and bearing a Mon (Clan Crest) reproduced three times. We have not been able to find the corresponding clan.
The interior has 4 attachment points with remnants of the fastening system (chin strap type).
Lack of lacquer around the lower edge and on the top (see photos).
