PMagnificent and rare Pied d'Honneur from the Equipage d'AZAY (36) which only hunted wolves from 1832 to 1914, then deer and wild boar.

It is possible that some of the dogs in the pack were the result of cross-breeding with wolves, a common practice in the 19th century. The tamed wolf “Cacao” was thus integrated into the pack.

The foot and crest are in very good condition, with an attractive plaque bearing the inscription “Equipage d'AZAY, Laisser courre du 25 octobre 1906”.

The full history of this crew is described on the ‘Mémoire des Equipages’ website
