Kurt Meyer-Eberhardt is a famous 20th-century German animal artist. He was born in 1895 in Leipzig, Germany, and died in Munich in 1977. He studied at the Weimar Academy of Fine Arts, where he became a student of artists Theodor Hagen and Lionel Feininger. He turned down a teaching position in Weimar and moved to Munich in 1918, where he decided to devote himself entirely to animal art.
He exhibited during the ‘New Secession’ in 1926.
