A circular brooch, comprising a large central medallion surrounded by ten teardrop-shaped elements arranged in a radial pattern. The silver setting, openworked with rings and dotted with small beads, frames each element with a corded border. The enamels combine translucent red, matt turquoise blue and Sèvres blue, enhanced by gold straw-textured patterns of interlacing and stars, creating a particularly luminous polychrome composition.

Made in Bourg-en-Bresse, this brooch bears witness to the craftsmanship of 19th-century enamellers, who combined the working of precious metals with that of enamel.
