Magnificent watercolour by Harry ELIOTT depicting a hound resting after a probably long day of leashing.
On the back is a period newspaper clipping, a true historical document, relating the circumstances of the artist's death.
 
The colours are perfectly preserved and give this jovial character his personality, reminiscent of the character illustrating DURAND-DUVERNONT cider bottles, also created by Harry ELIOTT.
There is a slight trace of damp on the marie-louise (see photo). We did not want to change it as everything looks period (newspaper clipping).
